ABOUT
Tantric Empowerment:
(noun) the act of becoming the most powerful version of yourself, revolutionizing the way you connect with your body and the way you show up to your relationships and life.
I believe this work to be revolutionary.
And I believe that if more people took this time to connect with their hearts and bodies, our world would be a radically different place.
When we shift the way we see and relate to ourselves, we start seeing, connecting and relating to others differently as well.
Even with all the self-help books, personal development seminars, yoga and mindfulness apps- people are still feeling anxious, sick, overwhelmed and like something is missing.
It’s because we were all, myself included, taught to look outside of ourselves for the answers. Turn to the therapists they said. The podcasts, the gurus, the influencers, the doctors and maybe even God…
And while all of those things have their place in our lives and hearts… they can also take you further away from your own power. From your own Divinity.
Because you’re still handing your power over to someone else. Still believing that someone else has the answers, the healing touch, the love that your body is aching for…
I am here to help you take your power back. Reminding you of why you are here.
And guess what? Pleasure get’s to be a part of it.
Pleasure NEEDS to be a part of it.
My story...
of the the body, the dance, and the power of pleasure
It all started with dance...
Dance was my teacher And my first love, starting way back in 1992.
Dance offered me the freedom of what it was like to exist in my body, to move and communicate in ways my brain couldn’t logically express or explain.
I’d spend hours and hours for the next 15 years at my local dance studio in Michigan, taking classes and competing, all while chasing that ecstatic joy of performing. It felt like pure presence and instinctual connection, to myself and other dancers around me. And to this day, there’s still nothing else like it… When I dance, I come alive.
And… it was hard. Years of competitive dancing led me to needing hip surgery… at age 19. Yes, I’d worn myself down into needing a surgery that was usually performed for the 65+ crowd– when I was still a teenager. (You should know, when I do something, I go all in.)
Major identity crisis followed. Without dance I felt lost, but I also felt driven to heal my body post-surgery and get back to the one thing I loved and onto the dance floor that was my sanctuary.
Then it was yoga...
I became a Yoga Teacher in 2010 with the hopes of healing my body post-surgery…
And to learn how to guide others on their own healing journey as well. However, I quickly realized yoga was healing much more than my body.
Beyond the postures, stretching, and breathing, it was the awareness of how my inner world was reflecting my outer world.
My physical pain, my struggling relationships, and the anxiety about my future… it was all coming from me. And it was time I stopped blaming everyone and everything else. I saw that if I focused on my part— the energy would shift and the problems could as well.
Then it was Personal Training...
Flash-forward to 2013, working at a high-end Personal Training Studio on NEW YORK CITY’S Upper East Side.
I was in and out of the gym all day from 5am-8pm, helping clients get “healthy” “be fit” “tone up” “lose weight.” But unlike other trainers, that wasn’t ever my real focus. What actually mattered to me was how they were feeling about their body and within their body.
I saw that no matter how “healthy” my clients were trying to be or how much money they threw at the problem, if there was something going on emotionally or energetically that wasn’t being addressed…the weight would come back, the physical imbalances causing problems would still be there, and the body couldn’t sustain lasting change.
Eventually, it was my “stretch sessions” that became the talk of the studio. These quick sessions were a chance for clients to finally stop pushing or forcing, and receive. I began to see my true gift wasn’t helping people get fitter, stronger, or achieving their #bodygoals, it was helping them find what was going on underneath the surface.
Someone suggested I should look into learning Thai Massage, because I was “basically already doing it”….
Great. Another bridge, I’m ready to jump! And I jumped on a plane to Thailand.
THEN IN 2014, IT BECAME ALL ABOUT THAI MASSAGE...
And it remained all about Thai Massage for a while.
I saw how my gifts and my unique personal history with body pain helped me understand what my clients were experiencing in their own body.
Before I knew it, clients were sharing me with their friends around the city, inviting me to work in their homes in the Hamptons, France, and across Europe. I received job offers to work for professional Rugby teams in South Africa and for a sought after bodyworker in India. I was seen. Desired. And yet…
I was still left wanting to do more. To be more. To unlock more.
I started studying abroad with brilliant teachers and healers, learning new modalities and techniques. And each time I came back to NYC, I began to notice something that I could not ignore:
Even in conjunction with the best physical therapists and bodyworkers, I saw how there was only so much pushing and pulling on the body you could do before it was time to address the deeper rooted issues.
And I wanted to help my clients with those deeper rooted issues. With my hands on my clients I started picking up on underlying emotional stories and patterns in their body. And they started to share them with me, before I even said anything.
I knew I was on to something. I knew there was something more here for me to learn.
SOON AFTER, IN MY TRAVELS THROUGH INDIA IN 2016, I CAME ACROSS TANTRA...
And my world, heart, and body blasted open.
Through Tantra, I realized: There is SO much power held withIN the body, withIN the pain, withIN the unspoken desires… if we only know how to access it and move with it.
To dance with the feelings we want to avoid, communicate with the parts of us that feel fear or shame, and acknowledge the desires our bodies are aching to express.
To no longer slap positive affirmations on top of something we see as “bad”… but rather learn how to alchemize these feelings with our body and our pleasure. (And to see the powerful body-healing, lifelong pattern-breaking results from doing so.)
It became clear: Nothing truly changes if we only focus on the external.
I saw the massive shifts that were happening in my own life, and I wanted to offer something more than “traditional bodywork”.
I WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE HEAL BEYOND THEIR PHYSICAL PAIN.
To address the underlying emotions and energetic knots stored in their bodies- and in a way that rippled into all aspects of their lives.
Because THAT is when the body can finally, truly start to heal, too.
FROM THAT POINT ON, I KNEW TANTRA WAS THE FRAMEWORK FOR MY WORK.
A WAY TO PULL TOGETHER MY LOVE AND PASSION FOR THE BODY-
BY INCLUDING THE EMOTIONAL AND ENERGETIC BODY.
THE WAY THAT dance SHOWED ME
how to access what the body is trying to communicate with us and move through us. To shake out, clear, FEEL.
THE WAY THAT yoga SHOWED ME
how to claim radical responsibility for the quality of my life and relationships.
THE WAY THAT personal training SHOWED ME
how addressing the physical body can't be the only type of self-care.
THE WAY THAT bodywork SHOWED ME
the power of intentional touch and my true gifts of unlocking all that exists beneath the skin.
As I gathered my years of experience…
the main takeaway became clear:
The physical body is the gateway to understanding and healing all areas of life.
However, there’s only so much that pushing and pulling on the body can do…
There’s only so much that willpower and brute force can do…
Without addressing the energetic or emotional knots, it’s like trying to move a boulder with a toothpick.
Good luck with that.
The body needs breath, movement, intention.
It needs to sense that it is safe enough to unwind and unravel.
It needs to remember,
the power of pleasure..
Tantra...
shows us first hand how to use our potent sexual energy
to heal our bodies, our relationships, and our lives.
While giving us…
The permission for pleasure…and for the full range of emotions.
The permission to be messy and imperfect…and to be wildly ecstatic.
Basically, the permission to be fully human.
This is when we truly heal- and get what we want.
It doesn’t come from ignoring what we are feeling, not admitting what we actually desire, or keeping those demons locked away in the back of our minds.
And it doesn’t come from anyone else, myself included, healing or ‘fixing’ you.
IT COMES FROM FULLY SHOWING UP TO MEET yourself,
WITH RADICAL PERMISSION TO EXPRESS WHO you ARE, AND then MEET EVERY PART OF you, WITH LOVE.
So now it's your turn... to see for yourself,
the true essence of tantra.
Tantric Empowerment brings you back to your own power...
where you are confidently your own greatest healer, lover, cheerleader. Where you get to feel exactly what you are feeling, whether it’s shame or joy, and know that there is wisdom and truth there.
For women, this may look like creating a more loving relationship with your body. Where there is time for gentleness and softness, and not just pushing through to please everyone else. You claim your needs with confidence, own your boundaries, and discover the limitless power of your pleasure.
For men, this may look like freedom from the pressure of trying to logically “figure it out” all the time. From trying to live up to expectations. From trying to prove your worth (whether it’s in the office with coworkers or the bedroom with your partner). Your mind and body are no longer disconnected. You feel confident in your place as a man in this world.
For couples, this may look like not only connecting on a physical level, but also an emotional and spiritual level. Where you are no longer just roommates co-existing, but two powerful individuals choosing to show up to the way you communicate, support each other, and make love, with playfulness and passion.
This work is less about me telling you tricks and techniques- and everything about guiding you into the infinite wisdom, pleasure and healing ability of your own body.
We just have to start with listening.
And I'm here to help you start.
